🇬🇧 Physical installation of CageEye farm-server

Connect power

Step 1: connect UPS to power

Connect the UPS to a power socket, typically found on the wall or in some cases inside racks. Leave sufficient space around the UPS for ventilation.

Step 2: connect CageEye server power to UPS

Connect the CageEye server’s DC IN to an outlet on the UPS.

Step 3: connect CageEye server USB to UPS

Connect the USB between the UPS and the CageEye server, as illustrated with a red line in the picture above.

Step 4: Power on UPS

Press and hold the power button (6) on the UPS for about one second.

(6) is the power button. Press for one second to turn on the UPS. Press for more than two seconds to turn it off. A green light on this button indicates the UPS is operational.

(7) is the button for navigating the menu options for setting parameters like voltage ranges and alarms.

(8) is the LED indicator for AVR (Automatic Voltage Regulation). When lit, it indicates that AVR mode is active, meaning the UPS is compensating for input voltage variations without switching to battery.

Step 5: Power on CageEye server

Press the power button on the CageEye server.

Alternative 1 - Connect network on server with PoE module

This section is for configuring CageEye servers that have a Power over Ethernet (PoE) module. To verify if a server has a PoE module installed, check the bottom right panel. If there are ethernet ports in the panel, the server has a PoE module installed, as shown in this image:

Step 1: connect CageEye server to barge network

Connect CageEye server’s ethernet port1 to the barge network. This port acts as a DHCP client. Make sure that the lights on CageEye server’s port1 are green.

Step 2: connect CageEye server to CageEye rocket

Connect CageEye server’s ch1 on the PoE card to the CageEye rocket. This port acts as a DHCP server. Make sure that the lights on CageEye server’s ch1 are green.

Alternative 2 - Connect network on server without PoE module

This section is for configuring CageEye servers that do not have a Power over Ethernet (PoE) module. To verify if a server has a PoE module installed, check the bottom right panel. If there are no ethernet ports in the panel, the server does not have a PoE module installed, as shown in this image:
